What is AWR?
In simple terms…… A piece of Legislation giving contract and Permanent workers equal rights.

• AWR (Agency Workers Regulation) is a piece of employment legislation coming into effect in October 2011.
• It provides ‘agency workers’ with the right to the same treatment and benefits to a comparable permanent employee.
• The Legislation is designed to protect low paid workers. It will however affect all contractors and agency workers.  

What Changes?

• From the first day of work - Agency workers will be entitled to access on site facilities such as canteen and child care.
• After 13 weeks work – The worker is entitled to the same working conditions as a permanent hire. Including Salary, Overtime benefits, Holiday entitlement and bonuses. More to follow when we have it!
